Talk to Frank?

Yes. Talk to the Frank, or rather listen his music. Frankly he’s superb. Reverb, electro beats, fusions, strings, synths and undertones of classical cadences. What more could you want? On a first look and listen you might thing there is something lady gaga-esque , or sam sparro-esque about him. But to be frank Frankmusik, is something different firstly he’s from London so he’s more of Croydon Cyborge, as opposed to something American or Australia. Allow all these arbitrary comparisons: he’s authentic. Deal with it. And also he’s apart of the Myspace, youtube, twitter generation, with a massive fan base, and he’s doing that old school or new school thing whereby artists interact with their fans AND he was actually discovered through myspace. There seems to be a new rave wave of electro pop nowadays in the music scene, which is heavily dominated by females in little boots etc. But if Frankmusik music is anything to go by I think we can safely say “the boys are back in town”. And yes I shall stop with the injection of “Frank”, its just a sick name! On a serious note, piano or otherwise, this is truly a great album of it’s kind but I think you have to listen to it twice to truly appreciate it. Frank cleverly makes us reevaluate out definition of electro music, and shows that electro does not necessarily mean dance. A song can be both electro pop and ballad-like. In Its one of the albums that is more a stream of consciousness, unadulterated, thoughts and feeling, not full of convoluted metaphors, or random similes, its quiet genuine if not instrumentally synthetic. It makes sense, which is quiet rare, also if you have time read the book One thing I like about it is its really dense musically, like its full or leitmotifs and improvisations, and synths and such. Yet lyrically it is both elegant, simple, and ironic and cynical. I like the way the way the theme of the “girlfriend” of the ex-girl, is prevalent in every song. Not many can run with a theme for 13 songs. And yes music is like marmite, not everyone may like this. Yet you’ve got hand it too him, like its one of those albums that just does what it says on the tin. . Its about love and all that electro jazz. So if you like that sort of thing. Download. Buy.
